ASK held its small fundraising event on Thursday, August 14, 2014. Five of the members from Soroptimist International of Vancouver had supported the event and enjoy the great time there.
The purpose of this Fundraiser was to raise funds for gasoline and other necessary maintenance expenditures for its transportation – an 18 passenger wheelchair accessible vehicle.
ASK Friendship Society is an Adult Day Centre, funded by the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, focusing on the well being of seniors and their caregivers. One of its primary goals is to help elders in our community remain happy and healthy while living in their own homes for as long as possible. Around 60% of the seniors there suffers from Dementia.
Volunteers at ASK Friendship Society phone and greet every single member every morning. ASK has its own wheelchair accessible vehicle. They pick up the members who are wanting to come to the centre for activities and meals every day.
