Soroptimist Vancouver Violet Richardson Award 2013

She volunteers with Key Club International, a student-led, high school volunteer organization. Key Club has a major emphasis on serving children; it is a club led by children serving the children of the world. She started as an active member of the club and have volunteered over 400 hours to organizations and event during the past 5 years with Key Club. In 2011, she stepped up to lead as Projects Committee chair and carried out two projects that year. Under her leadership, the club did the Art of Giving in coordination with Hastings Community Centre to host a 24 hour famine for Somalia.

In early 2012, she was elected to serve as the Lieutenant Governor for 12 Key Clubs on both the Vancouver Island and Lower Mainland. At this time, she led the club to support a project for the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup. Recently, she organize a talent show to raised funds for The Eliminate Project, a project dedicated to eliminating Maternal/Neonatal tetanus from the face of the earth through sending $1.80 vaccines to rid mothers and all their future babies from MNT.
